When combining shots, your project will flow more fluidly when you alternate wide angle shots with close up shots, medium shots, etc. Sometimes you can not avoid similar shots back to back, but alternating them will hold the audience’s attention better. Remember, it’s all about creating a story people will want to watch. On this note, here’s another hint. Keep your shots under ten seconds each. Unless someone is standing up giving a speech, no one wants to watch the same thing for very long. If you don’t believe this, take note of how many camera shots there are in any given TV show.

Try holding the hook and yarn in different ways until you determine the grip and style most comfortable for you. Don’t get hung up on the right technique you read in a book or on a web site. Discover what works for you.

So, the next time you’re planning a big celebration, go tropical. A Hawaiian luau theme party is great for any occasion, any age group, any time of year. It doesn’t take a lot of money or effort. But best of all, it will be the fun island bash that no one will forget.
